How we're expanding capabilities at our India Technology Center
As we advance the noble work of farmers and builders, we continue to leverage innovative technology to increase productivity and profitability for our customers.
A first-of-its-kind Multi-Vehicle Simulator (MVS) supports these goals by helping us reduce waste and improve quality by testing and evaluating our products in the virtual world.
Unveiled at our India Technology Center (ITC) in Gurugram in Northern India, this technology delivers a range of benefits including:
- Ergonomics simulation to better understand what it feels like to drive our products
- User experience testing controls
- Customer clinics to understand what is and isn’t working well - and subsequently implement rapid changes
- Design reviews for product development teams
- Product validation and employee training
The MVS has advanced features such as body tracking sensors, virtual reality headsets and devices, multiple display screens, video and audio conference capture and playback systems, which effectively mimic in-field conditions in our labs. It also has related software - hardware integration where the simulator combines a physical and virtual experience with embedded software, and an adjustable frame to replicate various cabs so different types of vehicles can be simulated.
“The new Multi-Vehicle Simulator is a significant advancement in our R&D capabilities at the ITC. With its cutting-edge features and versatile applications, it will empower our teams to innovate and refine our products to meet the evolving needs of our customers. It marks a significant leap forward for our India Technology Center. It's not just about creating better vehicles; it's about empowering our farmers and builders with the tools they need to succeed. By testing and refining virtually, we can ensure our products are not only innovative, but also ergonomic, user-friendly, and ultimately, contribute to the profitability of our customers' operations," said Ashish Sharma, Vice President and Managing Director – ITC, CNH.
This development follows the expansion of the ITC. A 32,000 square feet expansion hosts high-tech facilities including three R&D labs as well as collaborative work areas. Together, these new facilities enable CNH teams from across the world to work together using virtual reality technology – effectively bringing them together in a virtual, collaborative space.
Opened in 2022, the ITC is breaking new ground to develop technologies, including software, embedded electronics, and data analytics, to support our business in India as well as our global product portfolio.
